6 Best Tips To Have A Great Weekend Getaway in Bali

Bali is one of most Weekend destinations  because of its culture, landscape and leisure activities. For years the island has been everyone’s favorite destination and is always packed with visitors, especially during  high season and weekend.
If you  plan to go to Bali for a long weekend, consider these tips below to ensure that you have a memorable weekend on the island.

1. The best to arrive late at night or early morning
Traffic from the airport can be at its worst during  the long weekend. So the very best advice I would give is plan your arrival and the trip is  early-morning.
It’s best to arrange your airport pick up with your hotel or private transportation, since the airport taxis can be hard to find so early.

2. Stay in a single area
Traffic in Bali can be very challenging during long weekends, so traveling around the island in your own vehicle is not a good idea.  Hire a private driver include a car is the best advice since most of the tourist drivers are trained and included insurance.
Staying in one area and explore it by foot, it could be exciting to explore the area and meet local people.   Staying in Sanur, Seminyak, Canggu, Ubud can be a good idea for each of those places has distinct characteristics.
Seminyak and Canggu are are the paradise shopping, where you can explore boutique shops, high-end restaurants, gorgeous beaches and thriving mixed communities. While Sanur is still a charming village that will stun you with its long stretches of white beach, tranquil neighborhood and beautiful seaside cafes. And Ubud offers its culture and arts from different styles of the artists.

3. Avoid the main tourist area
It’s better to avoid Nusa Dua, Downtown Denpasar, downtown Kuta, Ubud’s Monkey Forest and Kuta Beach during the long weekend.
Why not explore East Bali or West Bali, Nusa Lembongan? Nusa Lembongan and its neighboring island of Nusa Ceningan with their fantastic marine life and original culture. You can visit some temples in Karangasem regency, mother temple Besakih and learn more about Balinese culture, and enjoy scenic rides on the way.

4. Plan  ahead for some activities
Instead getting stuck in traffic, you can try to do more activities like mountain bike, hiking, snorkeling, diving, surfing, and cooking class, and yoga class.
If you would like to enjoy underwater activities, you can stay along the beach, so it should be your best chance to explore the ocean by staying close to diving/snorkeling points (Amed,Menjangan island, Jemeluk) . East Bali is well known as the best area to stay in since you can easily go to Jemeluk, Amed and Padang Bai without having to worry about traffic.
You can also explore other interesting things like trying Bali’s best spas, signing up for a cooking class, renting a bicycle and strolling around Sanur, Horse back riding, paragliding, kayaking in a mangrove forest and many more.

5. Avoid the Nusa Dua and Bukit area
You don’t want stuck in traffic.  Unless you stay around these areas without planning to go out which is fine.
If you do love the beach, we recommend you stay there, then you can go beach hopping to Bali’s most stunning beaches such as Pandawa beach, Suluban, Padang Padang, Dreamland and many more.

6. Plan ahead a trip itinerary

For example, if you want to go Saturday night shopping, stay in Kuta or Seminyak by wearing a comfortable pair of shoes. You don’t need a driver really, you can stroll the beaches and the streets by foot.  It is really fun and exciting!
