According to The Jakarta Post, The former US President Barack Obama is expected to spend a five-day vacation in Bali before he departs for Yogyakarta and Jakarta. He will reportedly be accompanied by his wife Michelle, their daughters Malia and Sasha, and other Obama family members. He will also bring several special staff members on the vacation.

Bali is ready for the Obama family.  Reported,  the Ninth regional military command (Kodam IX) Udayana commander Maj. Gen.Komarudin Simanjuntak said his team was ready to safeguard Obama’s visit to Bali. However, he further said the military command did not have a security operation command for the visit.

Komarudin said Obama would arrive in Bali on June 23 and vacation with his family on the island until June 28. “We haven’t been invited to attend any meetings related to the visit, however.”
Komarudin added that he did not yet know where Obama would stay during his vacation to Bali. “In which part of Bali he will stay – Gianyar, Kuta or Nusa Dua – I don’t know yet,”

Komarudin emphasized they were ready to safeguard Obama's visit. "The Army, especially VVIP security personnel, never choose days. The Army has always been trained to face any situation. So, once he [Obama] says we will go to Bali, that’s the time for us to work," he said

The family is also scheduled to visit Yogyakarta on June 28 to 30 before heading to Jakarta.
Obama is visiting Indonesia after a special invitation from Diaspora Network Indonesia, Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya said.

“Obama will meet with President Joko Widodo at the State Palace in Jakarta on June 30, before he gives a keynote address at the Diaspora Network Indonesia Congress on July 1.” Indonesia Expat.

This is Obama’s first public speech in Asia since the end of his term early 2017.

Selamat Berlibur Mr. Obama Sekeluarga.

If you are planning to visit the festival, these are some advice to follow since the area will be very crowded by visitors every year:

1.      You should ask for a guide book from the committee at the booth around Ksiranawa stage.  The art center has several stages and spread around the area.  It is a good idea to have a guide book handy, so you can have  dates, time and locations are stated in the event schedule.

2.      Plan to arrive early, especially when you  visit the event with children.  Some events are free, so it is very important to arrive an hour before the performance is started.  If you are planning to watch a popular performance, You would give yourself more time to find the perfect spot.

3.      How to get to the Art Center with easy access?  The best way is arriving on the Jalan Hayam Wuruk near the Banjar Kedaton, and you need to make a little walk to the location.

4.      Transportation: You can arrange the transportation the day before with your driver.  You can take an Uber, Taximeter, private driver, or motorbike.  If you ride a motorbike, make sure to bring your helmet with you all the time.

5.      There are many food stands at the festival area.  It is a good idea to bring your favorite snacks and water.

6.      Don’t forget your umbrella and hat, especially for the daytime event.  It’s nice to have it handy.

7.      Be careful with your belonging.  This place is full of people and be aware of pickpockets,   I would bring my cross body purse to be safe.

Selamat Menonton!

Enjoy the Event!
