According to, Benjamin Andrews, director of the Smithsonian’s Global Volcanism Program said,  “ the vast majority of visitors to Bali have nothing to fear, at least as far as their lives are concerned, from the Mount Agung eruption, which is at least 30 miles from the major tourist areas. “

As I mentioned before on my blog, there several  areas are very safe to be in Bali like, Denpasar, Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Peti Tenget, Uluwatu, Jimbaran, Canggu, Nusa Dua, Sanur, and western Bali.
In these areas the Christmas Celebration and the New Year’s eve 2018 are open for tourists.

What is the point of getting crazy-angry about Bali Volcano?

What is wrong with travelers  who behave this way when a potential natural disaster upsets their holiday plans?

Ulun Danu Beratan temple

“ Is there no concern, in this case, for the villagers living close to the fiery Mount Agung, who are being evacuated or could lose their homes and possibly their lives in a lava flow? Does anyone actually expect an airline to send off its planes through a volcanic ash cloud?” Traveler

Infinity Chapel at Conrad Bali

The only time you get angry is when no information is being informed.   News is everything… you can’t control a natural disaster.

Like many other travelers,  I’ve been stranded at airports due to issues such as aircraft maintenance, terrorism, storms, and many other reasons.

Now, the mount Agung is sleeping.  We’re all hoping that Bali tourism will bounce back to normal.  Bali is an island totally depends on the tourism industry. And we don’t see many hospitality and destination as warm and genuine welcome as people in Bali.

Please support Bali tourism and people in Bali by visiting the island.

Soon, I will be posting  about Christmas celebration and New year eve’s 2018 in Bali.

The reopening of the international Ngurah Rai airport in Bali,  now  tourists can fly to Bali for Christmas vacation and new year 's eve celebration.

The exaggerated news about Bali volcano, it hurts the Bali tourism industry.  Bali’s businesses had to take care those who stranded in Bali during the airport temporary closure due to mount Agung eruption.

Myself and my family, we don’t need to worry to enjoy vacation in Bali despite of mount Agung eruption, the mount Agung is sleeping for a while.  And the distance of Mount Agung from Nusa Dua is about 80-90 km it's not really much impact of the eruption in certain areas in Bali.

Photo: Bali Travel Info

The tourists can still enjoy their  holiday in areas that are not affected if the great volcano erupts. These areas are safe to visit, Kuta, Seminyak, Sanur, Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Uluwatu, including Western Bali.  If you want to have a peace of mind, you should take out travel insurance to cover your potential massive costs, like evacuation back home, and extended travel disruption, etc...

However, Bali has been chosen for years for its spectacular hospitality and its uniqueness of Connecting with locals, discovering unique culinary experiences,  holistic wellness, beautiful beaches, spectacular sunset, and culture of Bali are some of the top motivations for travel in 2018.

YES, Bali is  still the top destination for travelers in 2018, according to an American Express study.

Bali Volcano update: The Scientists Predict The Mount Agung Eruption Cause Global Cooling effects of the Global Temperature.

Author, Ekarini
For more info about Bali: Bali Travel Info

Photo: BBC

As we know, the mount Agung erupted on November 21, and It’s predicted an ongoing eruption.

Since yesterday, the volcano was quiet after the last week eruptions.  The eruptions brought magma to the crater and ashes into the air on the Bali island.

According to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Brett Anderson, Scientists are not able to predict if or when Mount Agung will have a major eruption.

Photo: Bali Travel Info

If a major eruption occurs, there could be some dramatic effects on Earth’s climate, including global cooling periods that can last for months to a couple of years. When Mount Agung last erupted in 1963, it eventually caused a 0.1 to 0.2 of a degree Celsius drop in the global temperature.

“A more significant eruption can have more of a wide range of impacts beyond Bali and the immediate parts of Indonesia,” said Leister “Whether that happens is pretty much just speculation at this point.”

According to the AccuWeather, three factors determine if a volcanic eruption will have a major effect on Earth’s climate: sulfur dioxide levels, location and eruption intensity.

1)      When a volcano erupts, it emits many different types of materials, including sulfur dioxide, which will sometimes pass into the stratosphere, according to Brian Toon, a professor of atmospheric and oceanic sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder.
Sulfur dioxide will transform into sulfate aerosols, which are minute particles suspended in the        atmosphere, according to NASA.

The sulfate aerosols block the sun’s energy and instead of passing through the Earth’s atmosphere, the energy will be reflected back out to space.
As a result, there is a decrease in the sun’s energy reaching the Earth’s surface, which causes a cooling effect on temperatures. The more sulfur dioxide that is emitted from a volcano, the more sunlight will be blocked out, thus resulting in a greater impact on the climate.

2)       The second factor determining impact on climate is the location of the volcano. Volcanic eruptions that take place closer to the equator will have a more significant impact on climate. At the equator, there is more sunlight to reflect, so sulfur aerosols will have a bigger impact.

3)      The last factor is the intensity of the eruption. The eruption must be strong enough that the cloud on top of the volcano passes through the troposphere and into the stratosphere, according to Daniel Swain, a climate scientist at the University of California, Los Angeles.
The stratosphere, which is a layer of the atmosphere, is located at an altitude of 65,000 feet near the equator and as low as an altitude of 23,000 feet near the poles, according to the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR).

The sulfur dioxide will stay in the stratosphere for long periods of time, causing the cooling to last for months, even up to a few years. In contrast, sulfur dioxide in the lower atmosphere would fall in just a few weeks.

Mount Agung oh Mount Agung

I admire YOU from a distance
Mount AGUNG oh  Mount  AGUNG
So many stories behind your volcanic activity.
Many people who claim to have the power to tame you, there are those who claim to be able to communicate with you, there is a claim to hear a whisper to bathe in your cold lava, there is a gambling that people challenge to  each other to tame YOU
(So they think the Volcano is like a beast/wild animal? So  that can be tamed, even sophisticated technology can not tame YOU)

One thing for sure no one knows how is about your ending story.
Let it all remain a "MYSTERY"

Mount Agung, Bali Volcano Eruption Update

Author,Ekarini
For More Info About Bali: Bali Travel Info

About tens of thousands of travelers have been stranded in Bali after an erupting volcano

forced the  Bali international airport to close until at least November 30,2017

Bali airport spokesman Arie Ahsannurohim said, “ the airport would be closed until

Thursday morning local time. “

Photo: Bali International Airport

Tuesday's closing affected more than 440 flights carrying more than 59,500 passengers.

An advisory from the Darwin Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre stated that Mount Agung's ash

cloud has reached 25,000 feet (7,620m), moving at 15 knots in the south and south-west

directions towards the airport, the statement also said.  The eruption continued at least until

8pm, as per latest monitoring, ejecting ash as high as 4,000m during Tuesday's peak at

between 2pm and 3pm.

The Balinese certainly are not too panicked with this event, they take daily activities as usual.

How the Balinese people face the disaster.

In Hinduism of Bali, disaster is part of the system of the universe to create a new life in the

context of Tri Murti, the fusing function is done by Lord Shiva Mahadewa as the

manifestation of Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa/ Supreme God for the balance of the

universe.

For the Balinese, God is nothing but a father figure who protects all of his creations fairly,

even we Balinese believe that God exists in every human being (Parama Atma-Bhagawad

Gita).

The Balinese also believe that natural disasters occur due to the necessity of the life cycle

and the Balinese are ready to even welcome sincerely if the disaster comes anytime.

In this difficult time, many tourists still enjoy the island.  The areas are still safe around

southern Bali (Denpasar, Kuta, Seminyak, Jimbaran, Uluwatu, and Nusa Dua).

Yesterday it was raining with volcanic ash, and this morning the cold volcanic cast sank peacefully to the river.
The Balinese certainly are not too panicked with this event, they take daily activities as usual.
But people who live near the volcano have been evacuated and tourists who want to leave Bali, their flights have been canceled for safety matter (temporary).

However, many tourists still enjoy the island.   The areas are safe around southern Bali (Denpasar, Kuta, Seminyak, Jimbaran, Uluwatu, and Nusa Dua).

Well, this is the Mother Earth work, I hope for those people have been affected will find a solution quickly.
Thank you for your understanding and prayers.

In case you don't know
Due to volcano eruption, it is recommended to cover-up during rain as the ash/smoke from the volcano is acid and when it rains the liquid not good for the skin also it is a good idea to use masker.

The Bali Island has many unique ceremonies and Pengerebongan is one of the amazing ceremonies. The Pengerebongan is a ceremony which conducted by Kesiman Village’s Society in the Pengerebongan temple.

This Mass Trance Ceremony is One of The Most  Appealing, and Emotional Climatic Events A Westerner Can Witness On The Island of Bali.

Are you in Bali right now? Jump to Tourist Information Office - Jalan Surapati 6, Denpasar. +62 361 234569. 8AM-4PM.

You don’t want to miss this unique Balinese Hindu ceremony. Paradise island has many traditional ceremonies, but this ceremony will open your new spectrum about body, mind, and spirit activities.

The ceremony is held every 210 days based on the Balinese calendar, Redite Pon Medangsian, November 19, 2017 called Pengerebongan ceremony (Mass trance ceremony). If you missed the prime time ceremony on Sunday, you still can come to the temple to enjoy different religious and sacred dance and music.
Where is located? In the Pura Dalem Pengerebongan Kesiman Denpasar Bali.

Photo,Sukandia.com

My village, my family, Kesiman village and neighboring villages also attend this sacred and unique ceremony.  What will you see in the temple and outdoor temple? Many people of all ages are wearing temple attire (white sarong, kebaya, and scarf).  You will see the mass trance ceremony, cockfight ceremony, Balinese music, offerings, holy water, parade around the temple, Kris or daggers, Barong dance.

Photo, Sukandia.com

Why do Balinese people doing this ceremony?
This ceremony represents a welcoming of the gods back to the temple, which is very important to the village because the gods are the protectors of the village and all habitants.  All the ceremonies are held here, which honor the gods ensure their continued goodwill to the village.  The men and women in trance are believed to be possessed by the gods, and the self-stabbing /ngurek
demonstrates the power of God.  Also, this ceremony has function to drive away bad spirits (the battle of the good and the bad), thus in keeping with Balinese belief, all things have two sides, good and bad.  The Balinese goal is maintaining balance.
